Isabel Lema Blanco has a Degree in Law, and is currently a PhD student in Environmental Education. She is currently a researcher at the University of Coruña (Spain), and a member of the People-Environmental Research Group. Her research focuses on the study of social-environmental
participation processes.
She has studied the role of mass media in public environmental concern as well as its influence on social movements like “Nunca Máis” in Spain. She has published in the field of environmental risk perception and environmental communication. Furthermore, she has worked as a consultant for public institutions (state and regional government) developing several public participation processes and environmental communication strategies. She is a member of the executive board of a community radio in Galicia, cooperating with international networks as AMARC in order to promote the effective exercise of people's right to communicate.
