In 1992 some engineering teachers found Ecoserveis to take care of the social aspects related to renewable technologies and energy consumption.
Thanks to inspiration and collaboration from European partners, Ecoserveis begins to work with Energy Poverty in the year 2000.
Until the end of the 2000s Ecoserveis was a smal NGO with only a handfull of full time employees. Due to the growth in the demand of their expertise and the change in funding at the EU level, the organisation has grown to have now 11 full time employees.
During the 2000s the work in Energy Poverty is slow but grows steadily. In 2013, thanks to a press release, the topic gets media attention and so ensues a boom in Energy Poverty Work
The boom in Energy Poverty demanded upscaling the activities of Ecoserveis. Some of them were about reaching out and educating the general public. Instead of addressing this challenge alone, Ecoserveis took advantage of a strategic alliance.
In 2014 the European Union changed the scheme for funding research and innovation projects in the region. Ecoserveis took advantage of this change, which turned out to be quite favorable to the type of activities they develop.
